Cabo, Mexico - Babymoon 2022!

Our Babymoon

Wait, hold up. Babymoon? If you’ve noticed my posting has been sparse in 2021, that’s because this happened in January 2022.

Followed up a few weeks later in March with this gal joining our family (no, not the dog Daphne, she’s been with us for close to two-ish years at this point).

We really wanted Chivonne to be well traveled and made the goal that within her first year to get her a passport to travel somewhere international. Cabo is a quick hop from Los Angeles, so its a relatively easy flight for tired parents and a baby still figuring out the whole sleep situation.

First Flight

The flight went very smooth! Shaine came prepared with all the tricks of flying with a newborn (drinking during take off and landing to help pop her ears, lots of toys and snacks).

Resort Life

This trip we took the easy route and stayed at a Hilton resort. We got a discount because it required we sit through a timeshare presentation. We brought the baby with us, hoping she’d be fussy and we’d have an easy out of the presentation. In all it was relatively easy and painless.

They even hosted a Thanksgiving dinner on the beach at night for all the Gringos. Thankfully we had access to a babysitter!

San José del Cabo

We didn’t have the energy to explore proper Cabo San Lucas, which we heard was more of a party scene. We instead opting to explore San José del Cabo which was calm and better suited for exploring with a stroller.

Beach Time!

This was one of the first exposures to a beach that Chivonne had. She loved eating the sand!

Family Photos

Yes, we opted to pay for a photographer to take family pictures. Looking back at them, it was money well spent and something I don’t capture well on my own.
